Know More About Basic Kitesurfing Techniques
No matter how ambitious you may be, get a trainer’s kite to practice with if you are new in this form of extreme leisure pursuit. A teaching kite lets you gain control over the flight of the kite, develop the basic feel of the kite and the power to harness the power of the wind to do your bidding. The dead-man safety system is a very essential safety device that you should discover to use. This is a good way to let you be in control of the kite and even has the inbuilt power to disable it should you become unconscious during surfing.

You can discover more about the system by reading the makers instructions. Surely it makes sense to study the controls prior to you deploy the kite. Ideally, you should be able to control the mechanism just by using one single hand. Every type of kite has different way of launching and re launching. It is easy to launch, just put the kite in the direction of the wind and the board on sand. It works with the same principles as a land or snow surfing. Just ensure you have the kite placed vertically and the leading side is facing the wind, placing the board on the sand. To be able to direct it effectively, you need to visualise the feel of the kite, the power and limitations. Now start practicing turning it to the left and right and do some eight figure movements and remember to hover and, lie on both sides, just to get the feel of the ride. All of these movements should be done without you having to look at the manual or keep glancing up to look at the kite.
These movements when learnt will make you the ultimate surfer who can control the movement of the ride simply by the feel. If you are new, get a teaching kite and start your practice during light winds. Once the kite is launched, it should be easy to maintain stability. It is important to understand the strength of the wind and how you can harness it to move your kite to the direction you want to go, remembering to keep your balance on the kite board.
Using this skill, you will be able to control the speed of the surf. There are basically two types of control in question here - the projected surface control and the speed control. Projected surface control uses techniques like tilting, sheeting and reefing. Speed control is something every kite surfer needs - obviously you won’t want to be bouncing up and down the waves at 100 miles per hour simply because you do not know how to control speed. Discover how to control speed by increasing and decreasing it as you wish. When you have learnt all of these fundamental skills, you can move on t discover more elevated skills that will make you a star riding on the waves. Now you are ready for some challenging stuff, have fun jibing, jumping, looping, wave riding as you blaze through the ocean riding a wave.
